watercolor in progress
Practicing with happy art is making me happy, and snow is making me think about spring! That’s where these botanically-designed capitals came from this week.
Today’s piece is a sketchbook exercise that has turned into a full-blown mini project. I wanted to do a typography or letter-form exercise with some flowers whose common names started with that letter. Having chosen to begin with ‘A’ – I went from anemones to bluebells, because it hadn’t taken me too long, and then just kept goin. Honestly, it’s really fun to try to fit the flowers into the general shapes of letters!
Now, since I like the way that most of them have turned out, I feel like I need to finish the set. Meanwhile, I’m working on some sticker sheet designs. More on both coming up soon.
