I have a giant file of images somewhere of people that just make me happy, and sometimes when I’m looking for some material, I take inspiration from stuff I find there. That’s the case with this drawing, which I sketched last week and finished up yesterday.

As far as I can tell, the bride’s name is Edna, and they were featured in an article in Jet Magazine, published October 15th, 1970. I just love this image, they both so genuinely happy, and Peaches is a style icon.
It was a little weird working with a source image that was so blurry. I have to accept that my drawing is probably not a great likeness. Instead, I have to settle for trying to capture the feeling of unaffected happiness. I think it turned out alright and was at least really fun to draw!
