Today, I’m posting an oldie. That is, I finished this drawing years ago and tucked it away. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything other than recent sketchbook stuff, so I figure that it’s time to mix it up a little bit.
These guys were originally drawn to go on the cover of a journal, and are everything that my art style was five years (or more!) ago. When I work in pen and ink, for some reason, I gravitate toward drawing these geometric figures with tiny, delicate little person hands. I still like them because they’re funny and weird. Also, I find that tangled yarn super fun to draw, in the same was that tassels are.
I’m not sure that I will ever use these kooky cats for a future project, even if they do make me smile. They also make me want to break out a tiny little pen and do some cross-hatching! Too bad I’m working in Photoshop again today, it will have to be inspiration for later this week.
