I took a few minutes today and finished up this quick drawing for the weekly prompt over at Doodle Addicts. The challenge “rules” were to draw a total stranger in high-contrast black and white. I chose a photo of a lady from the 2016 AfroPunk fest in Brooklyn that was included in a series for W Magazine. She looks how I always wanted my Barbies to look, and it’s kind of a shame that it wasn’t a color challenge because I live for the plum color that her hair is in the reference photo.
Meanwhile, I’m working on polishing my six pieces. They’re close enough that I think I’ll be able to print my first proof this afternoon! Excitement.
