The sketchbook page that I’m posting today is another one that’s based around a limited color palette. This time, it’s focused around the contrast between a warm yellow and cool violet-blue. I put some flower bulbs in pots at the beginning of the week and I’m already thinking about when they’ll bloom! When they do, I will have daffodils and crocuses for the windowsill, and they’ll come in these colors:
My drawings are little fantasy illustrations of characters that have lovely flowing hair. It was really the only thing that I was considering other than the color palette. The star lady is a painting with several layers that took a while, while the man-dog creature was pretty quick: just colored pencil over a watercolor wash. I probably like them both equally, though, even though one took a lot less time!
