I’ve been hard at work this spring behind the scenes with a big, BIG project – my own print shop, where I can sell my art and handmade goods. It’s been a long haul. I strongly considered starting with something simple, on Etsy. But when I realized that I wanted to offer more customization options for certain things, I ran into problems. Instead, I invested in the arduous process of building my own.
It’s been a long, long time since I thought that I would finish, according to my original timeline! There have been hundreds of setbacks, large and small, and it has felt like training to juggle. Although there are weeks of work left ahead of me, the end it finally in site for Magpie & Pen!
My opening product offerings will include greeting card prints, notebooks, custom stationery, and a range of special gifts, like bookmarks and stickers. With lots of other products already in development, lots more is set to appear soon after the shop officially opens.
Meanwhile, I’ve been MIA here at the skechbook blog! I have been doodling, drawing, and even some painting here and there, but I’ve been focused on the shop. Everything is going un-photographed and un-scanned for the summer – I’m website-building!
