
Today, I finished another little page from my sketchbook of color palettes! This one is centered around a deep, vibrant shade of olive that I decided to contrast with a bunch of warm colors for a scheme that to me, feels reminiscent of scouting, hiking, and camping trips. I called it ‘Canyons’ because it reminds me of how the diffuse desert light makes beige stones look vibrantly orange at the bottom of a canyon.
Or, that’s what I think I’ve seen! Someday, I’d love to see a grand canyon (perhaps even the Grand Canyon), but for now, I painted a nice crinkly-leaf pant.
