This Halloween cat illustration in the sketchbook was pretty quick and dirty, but turned out really nicely for what was a quick one-hour exercise. It also feels great to get seasonal in my new workspace, even if I’m still technically settling in!
This is a really exciting week for me. I am starting to take official product photos for the online shop that I’ve been putting together for so long. I plan on being in camera mode, with my desk will be set up for lighting instead of painting. My posts will be previews, rather than the usual sketches!
Todays’ post is an un-composed, overhead shot, and shows everything that I’ve put together for my opening. In the mix are greeting cards, stickers, notebooks, and a coloring book. Right now, I’m taking a hard look at cost and pricing while I make the last couple of tweaks to some of the items and setting up the studio for later this week.
I am not sure if my collection of goods is super cohesive, but it’s all definitely mine. I could go back and endlessly “fix” every piece, but overall I’m proud of everything that I’ve made. I’m so, so excited for the next step, the building part!
