I promised three days of burgers, and I remembered this at about eight pm last night after I had packed up everything that I thought was on my to-do list. That just means that it’s a Sunday morning two-for-one cheeseburger deal!
The cheeseburger fashionista (which I previously posted about here) was the only part of this drawing that I had done in pen and ink. Putting in the background was equal parts super fun (coming up with who/what was back there) and frustrating (cityscapes and straight lines are HARD). It might be my favorite one of these drawings so far just because it was such a slog.
Here is the final result of the Burgersaurus Rex. The next ones in the series will be a surprise. I have so many things in the works right now, including cards, stickers and BOOKBINDING. One the big “strings” of Ink, Paper, String is bookbinding thread!
I have paper samples on the way, which means that soon I get to print some proofs, and play around with making these coloring book images behave like, well, a book. It will be my first post showing the magic of needle, thread, and paper. That sounds cheesy, but I feel kind of cheesy about bookbinding. It’s one of those very simple zen crafts that you can make as simple or as complicated as you want for very little cost and a lot of payoff in terms of usefulness. I’ll be back soon with more, and maybe my first stab at a tutorial?
