a picnic, gouache sketch
Any followers of this site will notice a big change to its appearance over the last few days. Along with it comes big news – I opened a storefront on Etsy with a ton of handmade designs.

For right now, I wanted to share the gouache painting that’s currently in progress in my watercolor sketchbook. On the left, you can see swatches of the major colors that I worked with. There’s a little doodle of the things from the bag spread out on a picnic blanket.
The painting on the right is about 70% finished. I need to continue adding darker colors, both in thick applications and thin glazes, to add more depth. I might decide to finish the details with something like colored pencil instead of paint, for more texture.
Now that my shop is live, I’m back to development, and will have plenty more to post in the next few weeks. See you soon!
